Born and brought up in Assam, I have always been fascinated by various visual mediums. However, it was photography which drew me the most and helped me to look at the world around me through a different prism. My experience till date has been of research and photography on issues such as women in conflict areas, the informal labour sector and education. My belief lies in using the visual medium, complemented with traditional research tools to reach out to a wider audience, in order to encourage and promote social change. In the long term, I aspire to blur the boundaries between the theorist and the practitioner.
